ABOUT

A small engineering studio that ships and staffs

Softronic is a boutique nearshore software studio founded in 2024. We do two things: we build custom software, and we place vetted senior Latin American engineers onto US and European engineering teams. Both sides of the business feed each other — the engineers we place are drawn from the same pool we hire from ourselves, and the delivery work keeps our own standards honest.

We are deliberately small. That is a real trade-off and we would rather state it than dress it up: we do not have a catalog of thousands of profiles, and we are the wrong call if you need a specialist for a one-week task or the lowest rate on the market. What we offer instead is that the people who interview every engineer we place also write code for a living.

Who runs it

Leonardo Alvarado — CEO & Founder. Leonardo leads engineering and is the person on the other end when an engagement needs a decision. Engineering content on this site is published either under his name or as the work of the Softronic engineering team, which he leads.

How we work

  • Custom development. Fixed-scope builds with a discovery week up front, then a fixed price. Typical engagements run $15K–$120K with ongoing maintenance available afterwards.
  • Hiring as a Service. We screen, contract, run payroll and compliance, and place an engineer inside your team — typically within 14 days. If the fit is wrong, you give 30 days' notice and we present replacement candidates within 7 days.
  • Timezone first. LatAm engineers work US business hours. That overlap is most of why the model works, and it is the thing we would not compromise on.

Editorial standards

We publish a lot of engineering and hiring content, and we would rather you know how it is produced.

  • Sourced claims. Market statistics, analyst forecasts and survey data are linked to a primary or reputable secondary source. If we cannot trace a number to a source we would stand behind, we remove it rather than dress it up as research.
  • First-party data is labelled. When a number comes from our own operations — retention, pass rates, audit findings across client codebases — we say so explicitly, note that it is unaudited, and describe the sample. We do not present internal data as an industry benchmark.
  • Opinion is labelled. Our characterizations of competitors and of market direction are informed opinion, and we mark them as such rather than implying they are findings.
  • Corrections. We correct posts in place when we find an error, and update the post's modified date when the substance changes — not merely to look fresh. Material corrections are noted in the text.
  • Commercial interest. We sell the services we write about. Where a post touches something we sell, we say where we are the wrong choice as well as the right one.

If you find something on this site that is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Where we are

We are a distributed team across Latin America working US business hours, serving clients primarily in the United States. Contracts are structured so IP assignment is clean and the compliance burden stays with us rather than landing on you.
